Juliemar will fight for:
A JUST ECONOMY
Connecticut has one of the worst economic gaps in the country.
Juliemar believes in living wages, taxing the rich, and equity in the emerging cannabis industry.
Many Connecticut working families still cannot afford basic healthcare.
Juliemar will renew the battle for a public health insurance option in the legislature.
Black and Brown folks, especially in shoreline communities like Bridgeport and Stratford, will bear the worst consequences of climate change.
Juliemar believes we need a Connecticut Green New Deal to transition towards both clean and affordable energy, while ensuring racial and gender equity in green jobs.
She will also fight for resources to shore up coastal resilience, as well as protect natural resources like Remington Woods.
HOUSING AS A HUMAN RIGHT
Connecticut's housing crisis has only worsened during the pandemic, as rents soar while many working families still cannot afford to purchase their own homes.
Juliemar will advocate for statewide rent control and fight for homeownership assistance—especially for communities impacted by redlining.
Furthermore, she will continue Connecticut's leadership as the third state in the country to guarantee tenants the Right to Counsel in eviction court, and will fight to fully fund the pilot program currently in place.
